INGREDIENTS FOR THE FRENCH TOAST
a few slices of a French baguette (slicing your own bread, allows you to control the thickness, and hence sogginess of the French toast)
almond + coconut blended milk (this is what I had, but any nut milk will do)
1 organic egg
a dash of cinnamon
a dash of ground cloves
a dash of ground ginger
a bit of ghee for frying
INGREDIENTS FOR THE HONEY BUTTER SAUCE
a spoonful of honey (I used Buzz and Bloom Organic Spreadable Honey)
1 tablespoon of ghee or organic unsalted butter
1/2 teaspoon of fresh lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon
HOW TO MAKE IT
Melt some ghee in a frying pan.
In a small bowl, mix together nut milk, eggs, and mixed spices.
Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture and then into the frying pan.
While French toast is cooking, mix all ingredients for the honey butter sauce in a sauce pan, and bring to a boil. Whisk periodically. Once sauce has boiled, remove from heat, allow to cool, and transfer to a small mason jar or other sauce container.
When French toast is ready, transfer to a separate place and pour honey butter sauce over the top.
